Below you’ll find answers to questions we get asked.
In most cases, you don’t. As primary care providers, you can come to us first. We work closely with medical providers throughout the region so you may receive a referral, but you don’t need one.
If your injury is a Workers Compensation claim, you will need to see your doctor to get a referral and Certificate of Capacity prior to commencing physiotherapy. If you’re funded by the Department of Veteran Affairs, you will need to obtain a D904 Referral from your GP. People with chronic diseases may also be eligible for a Chronic Disease Management Plan, which enables you to claim a rebate through Medicare for part of your consultation fee. Please see your GP to discuss this further.
We don’t. Rather than treating with medicine, we provide a hands-on approach to therapy that is proven to be effective in relieving pain and stiffness in muscles and joints. When used in combination with a guided and progressed home exercise program, results have been proven to be more effective in some situations.
If you can, wear loose-fitting clothing similar to what you’d wear to exercise. It will be easier to assess how you move.
When you no longer require hands-on therapy, we’ll educate you so you can maintain great results on your own.
Consultation and treatment prices vary depending on the service. Please call us to discuss.
If you have other questions, don’t hesitate to call us.
